Description:
Item contains Birnbaum’s transcriptions of works by Rossi from his Ha-Shirim (Venice, 1622-23), mainly versions of Kaddish and Barchu. According to Birnbaum's description this file should also have included transcriptions from Davit Civita's Premitie armoniche (Ven., 1616); these are missing as of 1979 (Adler catalogue). Most items are written for three voices, “canto, alto, tenore,” and have text-underlay. Some items have been crossed out entirely, possibly by Birnbaum.
