Description: 

This manuscript was written by Offenbach for the Sabbath eve services, containing twelve versions of Lekha dodi. Items nine and eleven are dated “composed on the 2nd day of the New Moon of Tammuz [55]99 [1839]”, and “Sabbath eve par. Vayeshev [5]600 [1839/40]. These pieces are generally for one voice, occasionally two or three. No text-underlay. Titles in Hebrew printing. Each of these pieces take a two part structure with the B section beginning “Hitoreiri”
